NIO Annual Communication Meeting Summary
On December 22nd, Qin Lihong, NIO’s Co-founder, gave a debrief during the annual communication event with NIO users. Here is a summary of the seven highlights from the keynote by Qin Lihong. (Source: xchuxing)
1. NIO Delivery
NIO orders have accumulated a lot since October. The current production capacity is about 5000 and starts to ramp up till 7500 in January. The reason for the bottleneck is due to the supply chain which at first was the COVID-19 problem, then the European supply chain problem, and now it is due to the global chip shortage.
2. NIO Power
NIO announced the completion of 14 units 20Kw charging piles in NIO’s Sichuan-Tibet route. In fact, more than 300 NIO users applied for power up service in the Sichuan-Tibet route this year. NIO has a power up plan to build 20,000 new units, and this Sichuan-Tibet route is one of the road trip charging routes.
3. NIO Day
In addition to Li Bin's one-hour product talk, all the other NIO DAY in Chengdu will be organized by users, and four things will be released:
a new sedan,
NT 2.0 autonomous driving platform,
150-degree battery, and
the second-generation power station.
Among them, the second generation of power exchange stations will be three times larger than the current service capacity block, now five batteries, 13 batteries in the future, no lift, on a slope, so the single-car battery change time will be faster. Next year NIO aims to add a station a day. In addition, NIO will release NIO’s LIDAR plan.
4. NIO App & NIO Points
In the NIO App, including Li Bin's daily user red envelope, in fact, all the points sent are NIO points, NIO points are patented globally which is based on blockchain technology.
5. NIO Life
NIO Life is the focus of NIO lifestyle which accounted for 200 million in revenue last year, sold 1 million pieces of goods, and 500-800 products are developed independently each year.
6. NIO Used Car Market
On January 3, Shanghai will launch the official NIO used car system, which is the last piece of the NIO business model, as well as the laddering of battery usage.
7. NIO Global Plan
NIO will definitely enter the European market next year; NIO won't be looking for dealers to export 100 units like XPEV. NIO will have a local service, points system, a European version of the NIO App, NIO house, and it's directly operated, not based on dealer system. (News & Photo Source: xchuxing)
NIO Pilot - NIO’s Automated Assisted Driving System
NIO said on December 23rd that its car owners have driven more than 100 million kilometers, or 100,162,943 kilometers, using NIO Pilot, the electric vehicle company's automated assisted driving system.
This means that not only is NIO's product ownership growing, but so is user trust in NIO Pilot.
The direct benefit of the data accumulation brought by many users is that NIO can continue to iterate and upgrade the NIO Pilot automatic assisted driving system in the future through big data analysis.
As an auto-assisted driving system developed by NIO, NIO Pilot has made 9 important iterations through FOTA since its launch 614 days ago, bringing as many as 20 major functions including NOP pilot assistance.
NIO said it has received more than 7,500 user feedbacks to date, helping NIO Pilot continue to evolve.
The company says the market for owners to use NIO Pilot has reached a cumulative total of 1,429,122 hours.
The 10 cities with the most vehicles equipped with NIO Pilot are Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Suzhou, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, and Xi'an. (News & Photos Source: NIO App)
NIO First Road Trip Charging Route 14.5200
On December 22nd, NIO successfully opened the first Sichuan-Tibet fast charging route in China! From Chengdu to Everest Base Camp, 14 NIO 20kW Power Charge Stations are laid out along the route, covering a total distance of over 2,900 km, easily reaching Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,200 m, exploring a wider world in the "Direct Everest Fast Charging Route"! There are a lot of untold stories from NIO app which NIO users are voluntarily devoting their connection, time and money to grow together with NIO. We are pleased and touched to read this countless stories and wish to share more this kind of stories with you all.
Mainstream media like to cover stock posts on explaining why NIO share price up or down. We are the opposite and only concern the stock price last given the strong fundamental, constant improvement, and strong user experience.
NIO Power Update: 168th Power Swap & 88-92nd Power Charger

This week we finally saw one NIO house launched in Chengdu as 200th in total, also 23rd NIO house in the country. This is a good sign that NIO restarted the NIO house construction. If you are not familiar with NIO house, you may watch the intro video from NIO on NIO House.
Summary
This week we keep the newsletter light and delightful for celebrating our first Christmas with NIO. We are thankful for a wonderful year since boarding with NIO since the launch of the newsletter in late August. We may miss the moments before that, but not after we launch the newsletter.
